Anyone going to the race 9-4? Never been to this track and completely missed Millville mad.gif

Just noticed that they included Pala, CA for the last race....figures...35 miles from my old crib...

Do you currently have a dirt bike Strafer?

Nope no dirt bike currently. I cut my teeth on dirt bikes back in the 70's and still dig MX/SX (as a spectator). Rode offroad off and and on until plunging the streetbike needle in my arm in 2003.

I think myself and some others could be talked into going pretty easily. I'd rather watch people ride anymore than do the riding myself. laugh.gif

yeah it's more fun as a group...we used to treat the Atlanta SX as a religious experience in the McGrath years...we'd have maybe 30-35 guys plus fam...show up at noon to start watchin amateur practice when the program didn't start until 7 pm...get pics of the kids with the riders and arm loads of posters and stickers for the garage

went to the Troy Natl a coupla times and snapped pics of riders at the Widowmaker ( a giant double) with a big plastic Jump-o-Meter behind it so you could see how high they jumped. We'd go on Sat to see the amateur races...saw a one armed dude doin all the nastiest jumps on the track which was pretty amazing..we'd walk the Pro sections that were flagged off from the amateur track and wonder what that looked like from their perspective...enjoy the big party on Sat night after the Amateur Finals and get up early on Sun morning...guys sleepin in the bed of their pick up with a big 2nd Place 125B Class trophy displayed prominently on the cab roof...f'in awesome...you can only do stuff like that, see the sights, smell the smells and just wallow in motorcycle revelry at the race track...it's the juice of hundreds or thousands of riders and fans cooked down into an intoxicating beverage that can only be consumed by being in the middle of the action...
